Okay, I must tell you that I had an ulcer about three months ago and during that time a lot of food really hurt my stomach when I ate it. I happened to discover fudgesicles and I ate a LOT of them. My ulcer seems to have cleared up but my craving for fudgesicles did not go away. But then the price went up. I am incredibly cheap so I thought to myself that there must be a way to come close to the store bought versions with everyday ingredients I had at the house.
I Googled “Homemade Fudgesicles” and while I found recipes when I tried them they just didn’t come close. I wanted something easy but I didn’t really want it to taste like a pudding pop. I wanted more of the fudgesicle taste. So I experimented and experimented, all the while eating every one of the test products of course. Finally I found a recipe that might not be exactly like the store bought but it comes closer than any recipe I have found.
First of all, you are going to need to have some kind of popsicle or fudgesicle mold to make them. I got mine at Walmart. Then you can make the recipe below.

These taste close to fudgesicles and not so much like a pudding pop. You can skip some of the ingredients but then you will have more of a pudding pop and it won't be as good.

- 1 3.4 ounce box of chocolate pudding Any brand works fine.
- 2 1/4 cups Milk 2% or whole works best
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp cocoa mix well with 1 tsp warm water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
-
Pour the pudding mix in a medium size bowl. Add milk, sugar and vanilla and stir. Add cocoa and make sure to beat it so that it is totally dissolved. Add to your pudding mixture. Use a wisk to beat it for about 2 minutes. Pour into molds. Freeze four hours and enjoy. (If they are hard to get out run them under warm water for little bit and they will come out easily.)
I enjoy these and just think you get seven batches out of one gallon of milk. If you get your pudding at Aldi's the price is quite reasonable and most people have the other ingredients on hand. You may leave out the cocoa, vanilla and sugar but you will end up with a pudding pop with a texture totally different.

You are welcome. I just made another batch. They aren’t exactly like the store brand from Blue Bunny but they are as close as I can get them so far. I would love to figure out how to get them a bit creamier.
