Rent out your driveway
Do you live near a popular commuter road, or a large amount of offices? Do you have a home on a popular city street, where parking is always limited or very expensive? Then how about renting out your driveway. If you have a garage you can park your own car in, or don’t have your own car, this idea is especially fruitful. You can also be assured that your house remains safe, as they will only have access to your driveway. You can also determine set hours that they can park at.
Sublet a room
You’ll need to be careful that you’re not breaking any rules or even laws if you chose to do this. But subletting a room in your house to somebody is a fantastic way to make an amount of cash on the side. While it won’t be enough to quit your day job, it will certainly add up to enough to make it worthwhile. Make a guest bedroom that is attractive and practical. Ideally, it will have an ensuite, or be not far away from a bathroom if not. If possible, position it slightly away from the rest of the family’s bedrooms. This may make both you and them feel more comfortable.
Become a landlord
Buying a property for the sole purpose of renting it can be quite a daunting prospect. However, it can be richly rewarding financially. If you decide to take the plunge, you will probably need the help of a property management company. They can help keep your home safe, and will keep an eye on the rental price you should be charging tenants.
